Designed and led by highly experienced Cleveland Clinic clinicians, the Fundamentals of Central Venous Access course provides the core skills necessary to perform ultrasound-guided placement of central venous catheters in adult patients. This program will prepare the novice proceduralist to safely obtain proctored experiences in the clinical setting. The primary audience includes physician trainees, advanced practice providers (APRNs and PAs), and students pursuing those roles. This course is also appropriate for practicing clinicians who are incorporating ultrasound-guided central venous access as a new skill to their practice.

The Refresher Course in Pediatric Anesthesia will focus on hands on activities performing point-of-care ultrasound to differentiate among hypovolemia, decreased myocardial function, and cardiac tamponade. Airway workshops will target difficult pediatric airway with special attention to fiberoptic intubation and instruction in cricothyrotomy under the direction of ENT staff. Participation in a simulation scenario will help to develop skills in addressing complications common to perioperative and critical care settings.
