Can I participate in an Advanced Skills Training program if I am still in training at a different institute?
To participate in one of our programs, you must have either an Ohio State medical license or be eligible for a Special Activities certificate. View the eligibility criteria for the Special Activities Certificate
Does Cleveland Clinic provide support for travel and lodging?
Travel and lodging expenses are the responsibility of the attendees. On your behalf, we have negotiated a special rate at hotels conveniently located on Cleveland Clinic’s main campus. View the long- and short-term lodging options

Is long-term parking available on campus?
Monthly parking is available in various garages on Cleveland Clinic’s main campus. If you’ll need parking, please inform us in advance.
Is there a quality assurance process for the programs?
All programs are subject to an approval process through the core faculty committee and the Advanced Skills Training Advisory Board to ensure compliance with regulatory, legal, governmental, ethical and scientific issues.
Once I submit my wet lab request, is my date secured? / Once I submit my wet lab request, how long before the date is confirmed?
No, your date is not secured until you receive a confirmation email from the Wet Lab.
Depending on if more information is required, you should receive confirmation of your date within 3-5 business days.
What are the acceptable methods of payment for lab services?
Preferably a check, upon receipt of invoice. Credit cards may be accepted, with approval from the Wet Lab manager.

What are the hours of operation?
Simulation Center traininig facilities are available from 8 am to 5 pm, Monday through Friday.
Advance scheduling is not necessary for individual training. However, for group training you must reserve the room. Please contact the Simulation Center at

What equipment is available for my simulation?
The following simulators are available: Standard Haptic Lap Mentor II; Lap Mentor Express; URO/PERC Mentor, VirtaMEd HystSim/TURP; GI-BRONCH Mentor; ANGIO Mentor Ultimate and SAGES FLS Training Boxes. For complete listing of Simulators plese visit

What kind of equipment is available in the lab? / What instruments and supplies can you provide for my lab?

What types of specimen can be used in the wet lab?
Cadavers, pigs and animal tissue.
When should I expect a quote/invoice for my event?
Once a confirmation email is sent out to you and you verify that all information is correct, you will receive a quote within 1-3 business days.
After the completion of your event, final details will be assessed and an invoice will be sent to you within 5-7 business days.
Where are you located? / How do I get to the lab?
First Floor of the Laboratory Medicine Bldg, L1-300.
Follow signs to the L Bldg Elevators. Take the elevators down to the first floor. Exit right out of the elevators.
Make a right at the end of the hallway. Take a quick left and the Wet Lab will be on your right (L1-300).
Who leads the training programs?
All programs are led by physicians who specialize in, and in some instances who pioneered, the technique being taught.
Will I receive a certificate upon completion of the program?
Yes, all participants receive a “Certificate of Participation” upon successful completion of the program.
